Sustainability is all about protecting our world and its inhabitants for future generations to enjoy. Our youth represent the voices of those future generations. ISC makes a point of recognizing youth who are taking a stand to help make society’s practices more sustainable or who have started sustainability initiatives that have spread to become examples for others.
The following individuals have been presented ISC Student Achievement Awards after a vote by ISC’s General Assembly of members.
| 2019 (inaugural year) |  Greta Thunberg Climate Change Activist | Awarded for her courage and leadership for (at the age of 15) starting a global movement of students striking at school to protest the lack of progress in protecting the future generations from the impacts of climate change. Gracing the cover of Time magazine and nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, she has taken the world stage as an advocate for her generation. Having spoken to the EU parliament and the UN, her influence is growing and we can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the future. |
